What We Loved at the QLD Garden Show: Trees, Soil & New Connections
There’s nothing quite like a garden/ landscaping community, I feel at home with these like mind green-thumbed compassionate people. This year’s show was full of them! ideas and practical inspiration—and we were thrilled to attend and chat with some new favourite businesses.
A Chance to Connect

One of the highlights was catching up with the team from Epic Gardener, who brought serious tree game to the show. Their collection of feature trees caught our attention immediately—perfectly suited to Sunshine Coast and Brisbane gardens. Whether you’re working on a small residential courtyard or a larger landscape project, their trees bring structure, personality and seasonal interest without being fussy or high maintenance.

Epic’s focus on climate-appropriate species really stood out. In particular, we loved their recommendations for trees that thrive in subtropical conditions—trees that can handle the heat, the rain, and still look great year-round.

Soil Life + Vasilis = Something Exciting
We also had the pleasure of meeting the passionate folks from Soil Life and the ever-popular Vasili’s Garden. Their energy was infectious, and their approach to soil health is something we think every landscaper and home gardener in Queensland should be paying attention to.
Healthy soil isn’t just good science—it’s the foundation of everything we do in garden design. And when you get the biology right, the rest follows. What’s exciting is that we may be seeing something in the works between Soil Life and Vasilis… stay tuned for a potential soil partnership that could bring better products and education right here to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Why Garden Shows Matter
Aside from all the beautiful plants and expert talks, the QLD Garden Show is a brilliant way to reconnect with why we do what we do. For us, it’s about creating outdoor spaces to escape to, to slow down with, to be melancholy. Gardens that are grounded in good soil, great design, and plants that belong in our climate.
We walked away from the event full of ideas and new connections, and we’re excited to bring those back to our clients.
