A Garden Transformation Rooted in Local Plant Selection
Our recent landscaping project in Marcoola is a testament to a commitment to premium plant sourcing. Nestled along the Sunshine Coast, this holiday home for a family of four was envisioned as a serene retreat — a space where the family can both escape to as well as rent out. The brief was to create a low-maintenance garden that complements the natural stone patio and thrives in the region’s unique climate.

Drawing inspiration from the renowned Fig Landscapes, we crafted a garden that feels both curated and organic. The plant palette was carefully selected to suit the site’s low light and moist conditions, ensuring longevity and minimal upkeep.
Key plant selections included:
- Creeping Boobialla for its hardy ground cover and subtle flowering
- Tall Sedge to add vertical texture and movement
- Dichondra repens and Native Violet for lush, trailing groundcover
- Casuarina ‘Green Wave’ and Banksia robur as structural highlights, with the Banksia serving as a stunning feature plant
- Licorice Plant and Westringia ‘Smokey’ for their silvery foliage and resilience
To enhance the comfort of the space, we installed structural plants around the seating area for a feeling of cosiness. Around the garden beds, we used aromatic tea tree mulch, which not only nourishes the soil but also is termite resistant.

This project approach combines expert plant selection and thoughtful installation techniques including fertilising, application of soil microbes and microbe feeder, as well as seaweed watering to stimulate root growth. The result is a garden that feels like an extension of the home — inviting, functional, and effortlessly beautiful.

Whether you’re dreaming of a coastal retreat or looking to refresh your outdoor space, we are here to help. Each project is a reflection of our commitment to thoughtful landscaping that celebrates the natural and man-made in unison.
